How to measure your ring size
- Cut a strip of paper or use a string:Â Make sure it's narrow and not stretchy.
- Wrap it around your finger:Â Place it at the base of the finger you want to size.
- Mark where it overlaps:Â Use a pen to clearly mark the point where the ends of the paper or string meet.
- Measure the length:Â Lay the paper or string flat and measure the length from the end to the mark in millimeters.
- Find your size:Â Use our ring size chart below to find your corresponding size based on the circumference measurement. If you're between sizes, it's best to choose the larger one.Â
Tips for measuring your ring size
- Borrow a ring: If buying for a partner, the most accurate at-home method is to borrow a ring they already wear on the correct finger.
- Measure at the right time:Â Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers can shrink by up to half a size.
- Size for wider bands:Â If you are buying a ring with a wide band, consider going up a half or a full size, as it will have a tighter fit than a narrower band.
- Account for knuckles: If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure your knuckle and choose a size that will slide over it comfortably but not slip off.
